POWER GENERATION

Lam Ta Khong Hydro Power Plant is located on the Lam Ta Khong River between Sikhio district and Pak Chong district, in Nakhon Ratchasima province in Thailand.

The Lamtakong Jolabha Vadhana Hydro Power Plant (unit 3 – 4) Project plays an important role in the power system, supplying peak power, and contributes to enhance power system operation.

The expansion project is designed to double the pumped storage plant current output capacity. When complete, it will have a total generating capacity of 1000 MW (500 MW from two units installed in Phase 1 and 500 MW from two units installed in Phase 2).

Technical characteristics

SDCEM provided starting and back-to-back disconnectors, generator phase-reversal and generator braking disconnectors in cubicles for the project in 2016. SDCEM also provided smart grid solutions to control & monitor disconnector position and prevent mechanical failures of the unit. SDCEM’s scope of supply:
